Somday is a social media application that showcases and allows you to connect with stories, shops & events around you.
Somday eradicates one of the biggest problems in crowded cities such as Hong Kong. By utilising social media through both iOS and Android apps users can connect and geo-locate through pages and profiles in seconds. Somday entices users to business or event locations with an easy and straight forward coupon interface page.
The initial challenge was to build and re-brand a user centred cross platform mobile experience and launch on both apple and android devices for the Hong Kong & China market. The application needed to cater to both consumers and business owners and take full advantage of social media to promote online to offline integration. I needed to determine where implementation and improvements could be made to the overall efficiency and engagement of the new mobile interface.
Collaborating alongside the owner, project manager and developers I followed a rapid user centred process iterating designs to ensure the new platform was as optimised and inspiring as it could be for launch.
The application has been well received on its launch with many positive comments by users and businesses on the improvement to usability.
It has been downloaded 10,000 to 50,000 times via Android devices alone since launch and Apple has featured the app on its trending searches.
